Infrared Spectra of Gases and Vapors

High-quality grating and FT-IR reference spectra, at multiple pressures when needed, to permit exact identification. Most of the samples are pressure-broadened with nitrogen to improve transferability of band intensities for composition estimates. Concentration and path length are reported. In response to interest in vapor phase spectra of high molecular weight compounds for GC-IR work, spectra of previously unpublished vapors of important hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, cresols, and pyridines are included. The arrangement of spectra follow the system used in the Desk Book to guide the user to major classes of compounds. A numerical index, alphabetical cross-index, and a molecular formula index are further aids to locating needed spectra. Careful selection and high evaluation standards make this collection of 230 spectra a most useful book.
